Danisarte Presents The Bilingual Playwriting Workshop for all ages under the guidance of the distinguished Mexican playwright  Alfonso Ramirez at The Julia de Burgos Latino Cultural Center 1680 Lexington Avenue (between 105 & 106 Sts.) Manhattan (# 6 Train to 103 St.) Tuesdays, beginning: July 8, 2008 for 4 weeks from 6:00 – 9:30 p.m. The Cost : $150. Registration:$50. The workshop has limited space. SCHOLARSHIPS : East Harlem Residents   Some of the plays and monologues written in this workshop in English and/or Spanish will be performed at public readings and/or at our Annual Theatrical Festival in December, 2008.

Teatro Rodante Puertorriqueño Ofrece Clases Gratis. La Unidad de Entrenamiento Raúl Juliá del Teatro Rodante Puertorriqueño, bajo la dirección de el educador puertorriqueño Ricardo Puente, hace saber a todos los jóvenes entre las edades de 14 a 22 años que ya pueden contactar sus oficinas para fijar cita para matricular a los interesados. Estos deberán llamar inmediatamente al teléfono (212) 427-8835 de lunes a viernes entre 4:30 p.m. y 9:30 p.m. y sabádos de 11:00 a.m. a 2:00 p.m. Las clases se ofrecerán en el histórico Centro Cultural Julia de Burgos localizado en 1680 Lexington Avenue entre las calles 105 y 106 en Manhattan (tren local número 6 hasta la salida de la calle 103 en Manhattan), de lunes a viernes, de 5:00 p.m. a 9:30 p.m. y los sábados de 10:00 a.m. a 2:00 p.m. Como ha sido nuestra tradición por 37 años, ofrecemos todas las clases sin costo alguno. Para cubrir los gastos de materiales de cada estudiante, se solicita una cuota anual de 150.00 dolares. Los cursos se ofrecerán en ingles y en español en las disciplinas de actuación, canto, baile, pronunciación del idioma y técnicas de audición.

Ernesto De Villa Bejjani
Actor, director y dramaturgo mexicano con 18 años de experiencia artística profesional, comenzó su carrera en 1984, terminó sus estudios profesionales en la Escuela Nacional de Arte Teatral del Instituto Nacional de Bellas Artes en la Ciudad de México, y en La Casa del Teatro, dirigida por el maestro Luis de Tavira. Trabajando en México, para teatro, cine, radio y televisión. Ha participado en más de 37 obras de teatro de más de cien representaciones cada una; tres largo metrajes y diferentes telenovelas en Televisa. Ha participado en diferentes festivales internacionales de teatro como actor y conferencista (Cádiz, Spain, 1992; Colombia 1992; Ciudad Juárez, México, 1998; y El Paso, Texas 1998). Llegó a la ciudad de Nueva York en mayo de 2003, trabajando en "voiceover" para publicidad, y con diversos directores de teatro. Además de su trabajo como actor, es dramaturgo y poeta. Y tiene un especial interés por la producción, la iluminación, el diseño de espacios teatrales. Y dirige una asociación productora de teatro de nombre Isla Manaria. Alberto Vázquez brings thirty years of experience to his teaching techniques. He works with inexperienced and experienced actors on their individual needs to reach a level of confidence, relaxation and execution of monologues and scenes for auditions. The workshop covers: relaxation, improvisation, monologues, scene study, moment-to-momenttechnique, cold readings, audition techniques, private coaching and career guidance. 

Journeyman actor, Gilbert Cruz, is available for private coaching, all levels (stage, film, TV, contemporary, classical theater and monologues). Very reasonable rate for 90 full minutes. Gilbert has been an active HOLA member for over 15 years and has worked for 20 years in all areas of the professional theater (local & regional). The Beginning Unit of the Puerto Rican Traveling Theatre's Playwrights Workshop has openings for those who wish to explore their playwright talents. Participants receive staging of viable works. The Non-Traditional Casting Project seeks actors, union or non-union, for their new on-line national talent bank. The "project", since 1986, has been offering to the industry, gratis, professional referrals of artists, technicians, and performers of color and/or with disabilities. They recently received a grant to upgrade their service to match current online specifications and to recruit as many artists they can reach for this purpose.
