Cover note: Ileana Canal, a bilingual (English/Spanish) New Jersey Native, started her artistic career as a dancer and creative writer. She holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in advertising and filmmaking from the prestigious School of Visual Arts, and has studied theatrical acting at the renowned HB Studio in New York City. Ms. Canal has recently costarred in the original, independent film “Mo(u)rning”.
She has co-produced, co-created and written an original sitcom series “Now We’re Talking”, an entrant in the Annual FX Network Original Comedy Series Contest, and has created and written an original, bilingual sitcom pilot episode “Shaping the Madness”.
In addition, she has performed and directed sold-out shows at the American Theater of Actors. Her theater credits include “El Super: the Reprisal”, “My Life as an Island”, “Luces de Bohemia”, and “The Owl and the Pussycat”. She is fluent in Spanish and has done Spanish-language voice-overs for the American Diabetes Association and the SIDS Foundation.
Ms. Canal is a versatile, creative, and passionate artist (writer, actor, director) who has excelled professionally in the commercial and artistic worlds. She has a flair for off-beat humor, yet thrives in both drama and comedy. She is driven but compassionate, and possesses a truly collaborative spirit.
